Netflix 28 days haunted
In early 2022, MAK Pictures approached us with an offer to film the recreations for their Netflix series "28 Days Haunted." Having a longstanding relationship with MAK, we were thrilled to accept the opportunity. Upon learning that the show had filmed in Colorado, Connecticut, and North Carolina, we immediately recognized that West Virginia would be the perfect location to capture all three distinct looks.
Over the years, we have extensively filmed in the West Virginia panhandle and have developed a deep affection for its scenic beauty, historical buildings, and the wonderful people residing there. We knew that with the support of our talented friends and the local community, we could successfully achieve the vision required for this shoot. With their assistance, we secured three fantastic locations and began moving forward with the project.
Following the completion of the West Virginia shoot, we traveled to Asheville, North Carolina, where we wrapped up the remaining filming at Ride High Studios. Our focus shifted to capturing special effects plates and creating stylized ghost effects. Additionally, we skillfully transformed the studio space to resemble an underground tunnel, a crucial setting for some of the haunting scenes.
We owe the success of this endeavor to our exceptional team, and we are immensely grateful for the connections we have forged throughout the years. Collaborating on projects like these reminds us of the passion that initially inspired our work.

Bloodroot holistics
2 / 2
Shea McKibben, a practitioner of Thai bodywork and herbalism in Asheville, NC, approached us with a request to create a series of photos for her product line and studio sessions. After discussing with her, we came up with a concept that would showcase her work in a natural and organic way, while also incorporating an old-time still life aesthetic.
As filmmakers, we have found that social media is a new avenue to explore, but switching to a vertical format can be intimidating for some. Shea was receptive and came up with some creative ideas. We chose to emphasize the old aesthetic of still life photography, while also creating subtle movement within the frame.
Our goal was to focus on the relaxing aspect of enjoying a cup of tea, while also highlighting the quality and integrity of the herbal blends offered by Bloodroot Holistics. We opted for a simple approach, similar to the act of pouring hot water over carefully selected herbs, planting a seed, or taking the time to relax and reflect on life.
Shea is a beautiful human being with a passion for healing, offering a unique and authentic approach to herbalism and bodywork in Asheville. We look forward to collaborating with her more in the future, including online courses, educational videos, and product imagery to help promote her ideas and passions in a holistic direction.
